Edison and Electric Bulb!
The Light Bulb. Edison is quoted as saying it would take a matter of a few weeks to invent the bulb. In reality, it would take him almost two years of failed attempts, new discoveries and prototypes before he would find success. It is said he tried over 6,000 different carbonized plant fibers, looking for a carbon filament for his light bulb. By concentrating and inventing a whole lighting system rather than just a single light bulb, Edison succeeded where others had failed. Edison chose to look at the big picture and created a lighting system including wiring, plugs, connectors, etc., to operate more than one light bulb at once. Fighting other inventors in courts from England to America, Edison struggled for years to claim his rightful title of inventor of the light bulb, possibly his most popular invention.

Teething Story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please make sure you read till the end.............you wont regret.......) There was one hamburger, one order of French fries and one drink. The little old man unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half. He placed one half in front of his wife. Then he carefully counted out the French fries, divided them in two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife. He took a sip of the drink; his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them. As the man began to eat his few bites of hamburger the crowd began to get restless. Again you could tell what they were thinking. "That poor old couple. All they can afford is one meal for the two of them." As the man began to eat his French fries one young man stood and came over to the old couple's table. He politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple to eat. The old man replied that they were just fine. They were used to sharing everything. Then the crowd noticed that the little old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She just sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink. Again the young man came over and begged them to let him buy them something to eat. This time the lady explained that no, they were used to sharing everything together. As the little old man finished eating and was wiping his face neatly with a napkin the young man could stand it no longer. Again he came over to their table and offered to buy them some food. After being politely refused again he finally asked a question of the little old lady. "What is it that you are waiting for?" She answered........................... ....................."THE TEETH". ----------------------------------------------------------

[Interview with Saravanan] Have you heard of a language called C ?
Saravanan, notorious for teasing others with ease, has started it with his would-be. She (an engg. grad.) is currently working in type-setting related work. The talk moved into what type-setting would involve and what it was not... Sara : Nowadays, everything is computerised and the old type-setting, as what we may think it is, is obsolete. Also that will surely not fetch her X rupees as salary. RRaj : Planning to switch to same type of job in chennai ? Sara : She was saying, that she can switch to same type of job in chennai (citing some companies). But i do not want her to remain in that. RRaj : What else ? Sara : Software. I asked here if she has heard of a language called C. RRaj : You started teasing her too ? Sara : (Smiling) Of course not. Just wanted to know. RRaj : You dont know that all engineering graduates from TamilNadu engg colleges, would have known and worked in C ? Sara : (Still smiling) May be. She said, "Athu kudda va theriyadu ?". I told her to brush up her C skills. RRaj : Why do you want to push her into software, if she can remain in a work that is not so very strainful ? Sara : This is the age we can strain ourselves a bit - may be for some more years. After that it may not be possible. Do you think you will work like u do now after some years ? Never. Let her try. ...Coming up... Sara talks about his plans for bikes/cars. ...Coming up...

[Interview with Saravanan] Chinna Machan coming to Mylapore...
Sara's chinna machan is getting placed in a software concern and is going to stay in Mylapore. Sara : Lavanya's brother was asking me earlier about the distance between Mylopore and Velacery, Mylapore and Egmore, kinda info. RRaj : What did you tell him ? Sara's reply : I told him "Ellam pakkathila-pakkathila thaan" - i dont know the exact details - so simple-a samaalichen !! RRaj : Why dont you ask him to stay with you ? Sara : It wont work-out. He may not accept. For example, i dont stay with my sister's family, though my mama has invited me. RRaj : Why not ? Sara : "Each one should enjoy bachelor's life". That's why. RRaj : Do you think you are enjoying ur bachelor's life ? Sara : May be yes/no - depends on the outlook. For some enjoyment is getting along with friends and roaming the city in bikes. For me enjoyment is reading books, returning home late from office - at any time, etc.,. and in that sense i am enjoying. (to be cont.) ...Coming up... [Interview with Saravanan] Gift for Lavanya..
I was telling you about how we lost in round#1. For round #2, i suggested Sara (during the interview) to present her with a cell phone (currently she does not have one) and go present it to her in person, at Pondy. Since there are 3 more months, this will be very useful. Sara told me he will consider. What do you think ? mail Sara (saravanan@adventnet.com) or add comments to this blog. The best suggestion will bring you a prize of pondy-bottle or a big-milk-chocolate (for guys like me) straight from the hands of bottle-suresh. - ungal rraj ...................................Coming up................................... [Interview with Saravanan] - Taking initiatives..
When Lavanya called Sara this weekend on his mobile, Sara told her that he also wanted to call, but did not know what to talk and hence did not call !! (do you believe - he has nothing to talk - and he wants us to believe :-D ) !! BTW, Lavanya took the initiative after suggestions/queries from her friends & relatives. We as friends, should have encouraged Sara to call her first. May be failed on round #1. I gave a suggestion to Sara for us to win in round#2. More of that and other details in the coming blogs.. Stay tuned. - ungal rraj.
